    • Intensely-violent. Transformative. Sweetly-moving. Fascinating enemies-to-love story that had me glued to its pages. I couldn't help but bleed with the story's intensity. a writing style that's brutally raw and highly personal. “Love wasn't to be measured, much less restricted, by methodology. Love wasn't a method. Love was a faculty of the highest order, imagined or unimagined. Love wasn't an activity. Love was an experience. Love was the second coming of innocence.”

    • The book is about a high school jock dropout named Tom who is basically a mixed-up young man struggling with issues of earlier physical abuse and internalized homophobia. His path eventually intersects with that of an ex-military guy, a few years older than he is, who wants to turn Tom's life around and fall in love in the process. The theme is realistically portrayed. Both young men are obviously inexperienced with m/m relationships and are blue-collar types. Neither one is effeminate or talks [...]

    • That was tortured not the good kind!! The plot would have been good, but the writing was so infantile it was hard to get through. I suffered to the end only because I paid over 10 bucks for this book! 1.5 Stars

    • Oh, wow. I like myself far too much to finish this book. Worst writing style I ever threw money at. Below is a sample of this author's work. He managed to work in the phrase "gurus of pout.""He was a jock and jocks were larger than life. Lesser dudes followed them around like pet dorks. Jocks never waited on anybody or anything. Jocks always had the right of way. They had the gift of glibness. Wherever they went, jocks partied for free. They never paid for food or overnight accommodations. Jocks [...]

    • I was really intrigues by the premise of this book when I got it. The underlying story is sound, sweet, and transformative. I would have like to be able to rate it higher than 2 stars, but I cannot due to the writing style. The author has a very advanced vocabulary, and he likes to use it. To me, many descriptions and sentences and passages were written using a thesaurus to find as many polysyllabic words as possible. The word choices and style are needlessly complicated and, at times, exasperat [...]
