    • So you wanted that next great RPG that has Skyrim and old-school D&D written all over it, did you? Yeah, me too. And so I'm ALL over this book for that reason. It's light, the leveling up is FAST, with all the neat tricks of absolute power leveling through loopholes and full immersion quests.Don't get me wrong, though, this is all hardcore gaming fun that's part light-hearted joy and expectation and part surprising revenge including assassins, dark dungeons, giants, kobolds, and golems. We'r [...]

    • This series gets better with every new book so far. Its full of adventure, that it was an exhilarating experience to read it. And it was over so fast.

    • Literally started this series 3 days ago, cannot put down the book. 5 Stars. Very well written, I've read many fantasy/science fiction books (over 150 just on Kindle) this series is moved to my top 5. Highly recommend

    • Now we're talkingLooking for the start of a great new series? Congratulations you just found one of the best written and engaging series out.

    • My original The Land: Alliances audiobook review and many others can be found at Audiobook Reviewer.“The Land: Alliances” is the third book in the “Chaos Seeds” series which is quickly becoming a full-fledged LitRPG Saga with upwards of six total books planned; four currently available on Audible.  The series is written by Aleron Kong and the Audible narration is performed by Nick Podehl; who also narrated the previous two books.  For those who are unfamiliar with this genre of book, L [...]

    • 4.5 stars. Loved it, but my least favorite of the 3 only because Richter did almost everything on his own in this book. I like it when Sion at least is along. But, the leveling up of Alma was awesome, so that was fun. Still, a great book. Now if only I can read something else before I tear through all these and have none left. ACK!

    • 3.5The books start to take a turn towards the "frat house" in this issue. Great world building and still a fun story.

    • "Such a predictable, childish story"-Has The Land: Alliances: A LitRPG Saga turned you off from other books in this genre?Yes, I am thinking there may not be much hope for the LitRPG genre.-Any additional comments?Where should I start? Perhaps with the in depth description of the main character's coherent castration by a totally-not-suspicious character. Then maybe the main character melting the skin off of people and again vomiting on himself. How about Richter's continued stupid decisions lead [...]

    • The casual misogyny is infuriating. He admires the "sweater bunnies" of an assassin after gruesomely killing her, making it pretty clear what matters to him more than the fact that he burned her face off. He also finds a plant that gives Viagra like priorities and the ability to prevent pregnancy, and leeringly tells his gardeners to plant more for his personal use without telling them what it's for. He walks off musing about the got village girls he wants to try it on. You know, the village gir [...]

    • This series is just so addictive. Apparently the whole thing is on Unlimited right now. I'm a fast reader, so I could pay for a month and read the whole thing. But since I'm enjoying it so much, I want to support the author, so I'm paying for each book. Gotta support the writers you like so they keep writing!

    • Outstanding!Am hooked on this series. Can't wait for the next book and see what new enemies Richter makes next. Love Alma and looking forward to see her developed and grow.

    • Excellent world building and amusing plot. This engaging novel brings the founding of a Kingdom in a unique fantasy universe to life. The plot seems well thought out.

    • A while ago I promised myself not to read any more Kong books, but after having a LitRPG craving and enduring a few horrible DNF books in the genre, I realized that mediocre writing might be worth settling for in order to satisfy my craving. The Land: Alliances makes you feel like you're watching someone play a cross between Sim City and an MMO on easy mode in the worst possible ways. The protagonist isn't that bright, and continually blunders into super powerful items that enable him to continu [...]

    • Though I like this book there are several problems that Kong doesn't seem interested in solving.First is the grammar. I have seen a lot of He when it should be She and a few missing words scattered around the book that breaks the overall flow.Next: Alliances doesn't really have much of a plot. I thought this book would be about getting rid of that blood oath thing and building up Richter's other companions. It seems Kong likes to leave those types of quests for the last second.I figured he would [...]

    • Nothing new and groudbreaking in the MMORPG/Strategy side of the series and it's still good. While this book is as good as the last I find it difficult to review series so this will be a short review. It's really a good story and the stage is being set for interactions with the wider world. As Richter and The Mist Village acquire fame and reputation Richter is learning that his actions may have much wider reaching consequences. So far his enemies outnumber his alliances in numbers alone and appa [...]

    • The wacky American guy's adventures in fantasy RPG world continue here in book three. Having read some reviews, it sounds to me like the audiobooks' excellent narrator has breathed a lot of life into these books and perhaps helped me overlook things that might otherwise grate on my nerves. That said, I'm still docking points for the tedious way the books list stats, loot, and the like. I'm not expecting the author to come up with a better way to do it mid-series, but if I found it tedious in book [...]

    • Further delving in the depths of a real-life RPG world. As with the previous books, this opens with a short cut scene to the powers that control the world. After three books they have had very little direct involvement. I'm beginning to suspect they are not as powerful as I first thought and that the hero may win out in the end. As for the hero, I'm surprised Richter hasn't freaked out. What has happened to his real body? What the hell is going on? I hope the author ties it up in the end.A littl [...]

The series is written by Aleron Kong and the Audible narration is performed by Nick Podehl; who also narrated the previous two books. • Third book in this series I read in three days, you could say I'm hooked. Looking just at the enjoy-ability part this was is still delivering It's just the descriptions of the women and the really immature jokes that bring this down. When the main character commented that a female assassin he just killed (and whose face had been burned of by acid) still had nice "sweater bunnies" I just about puked right on the spot. Just no. I will still continue though, I really like this series in every other [...]

    • Soon as i finished Book 2, I put it down and immediately picked up Book 3 and started reading. These books are very addiciting it's the LitRPG concept that is facinating, and it really works.I'm almost done with this one, and prolly will finish within the next couple of days.My only comlaint is that the next few novels in the series are not in paperback yet, and as an old school kinda guy, i like the hold and feel paper. Hopefully Aleron Kong will get them printed soon, i know he plans to do it, [...]

    • As a teacher (wife and mother), I find that the only time I get to actually PLAY RPGs is during the summer or week+ breaks from school. Listening to the main character going on adventures, leveling, learning spells and completing quests scratches that itch to play. The story itself is a great read. The pacing of events keeps you hooked and wanting more. There is a great balance to character development and action. The humor in the book is spot on for this genre. I've found myself laughing out lo [...]

    • Brain Drain! These books are all I want to do, lol.The story is fast paced and filled with unexpected twists and turns, I love it! I'm going through the books entirely too fast because everything flows so well, I always want to know what's happening next, and almost every time I wonder about something it gets addressed shortly thereafter!Very few grammatical errors, tons of references that the locals don't always get, and I can't wait to see what happens with Alma!

    • I finished this book with a hunger for the next one. The cliffhangers are horrible and extremely effective. I devoured this book. They get better with each one. I am developing a fondness for Alma now that she has a raised intellect. I just adore dragons! Also, I am eager to see how the Mist Village continues to fill out. It’s really starting to look good. I wouldn’t mind finding myself in The Land. Oh, if only. If only.

    • Love this Book Series! I am into LitRpg lately and have been reading a lot of the other books in that genre. But these book series tops them all its funny, exciting and the best part you won't get bored reading it again and again. Which i usually do With these books i still find the lines funny even if i have already read it before. All i can say is: Try It! You definitely won't regret it. Give the Audiobook a try too!

    • Another good book from Aleron Kong. He has a good grip on the world and mechanics of it. Still not fond of his pop-culture references, but, luckily, it was much toned down in this one. This was certainly more of a brutal story than the last books. One scene in particular was rather surprising, but there were a couple others where Kong was dipping into his medical knowledge a bit more than was entirely comfortable.

    • More of the same. The main character, Richter, sort of explains his choices for stats increases, and given the author knows what is going to happen, it sort of makes sense. But for a 'gamer' that is supposed to be a ruler and forging alliances, it makes no sense at all. Lowest stats: WIS, CHA and LUCK. *sigh*Still an easy read without much thought provocation or need to delve for a deeper meaning. And for some reason I'm still entertained.

    • It seems to me the Author has given the main character the serious case of ADHD when it comes to doing quests. Like one very specific one that he has had since the very first book!!! It's like oh shiney, lets go over there, oh another shiney, let's do that as wellThe main VA for The Land books is Nick Podehl, he does great work.

    • I couldn't wait to read the next one so i went straight ahead and read it and now i'm looking forward to reading book 5 and 6!! Very fun and enthralling. It's similar in some ways to a favorite japanese series of mine called Overlord. It is also a LITrpg and has been translated into english and also has a TV show. I would love it if THE LAND had a a TV show. :3

    • Aleron does it again! An amazingly addictive series from start to finish. There are few series I have read that I enjoy reading over and over again. This is one of them. The characters are charismatic and reading it gives you a sense that you are along for the ride, sharing their adventures right along with them!
