    • A COWBOY FOR CHRISTMAS by Lacy Williams is a tale of healing and a tale of redemption and forgiveness. After Daisy Richards loses her dominant arm in a freak accident, the former outgoing young lady becomes an introvert who remains in seclusion in her family home. A shadow of her former self, she has taken to stubbornness and pity. Life without an arm is truly difficult for her and she hides her herself so detract from any attention that might come her way. When he father remarries and leaves he [...]

    • I really enjoyed this story. Author addresses themes of redemption, forgiveness and overcoming fear - having both characters be "afraid" for different reasons. The heroine, succumbing to panic attacks after an accident takes her right arm and the hero, whose actions led to that accident, wanting to atone for his ne'er-do-well past. Emotional without pitying and a nice sizzle to the chemistry between romantic couple. My favorite by Williams to date, and the best book in this series so far.

    • Also posted HERE.I’m so in love with this little Christian Western romance series, and I’m not sure why! I guess it’s because Lacy Williams is a wonderful writer, and her books are so secular I really wish she’d turn her talents on a more mainstream market.I do tend to stay away from books where one of the lead characters has lost a limb, because I tend not to like the way the situation is handled, but I thought – hey, I liked The Fault in Our Stars, and I like this author. So when I r [...]

    • There are a select few authors for Harlequin's Love Inspired Historical line whose books I consider "must reads" and it looks like I need to add Lacy Williams to that list. A Cowboy for Christmas, the fourth in her Wyoming Legacy series, was a surprise and yet exactly what I was hoping for. A sweet romance, growing faith, a bit of adventure and a bit of a challenge to be overcome on the way to happily ever after. Now, reading the publisher's description, I did think I knew pretty much what to ex [...]

    • Rating 4.5 StarsI received this great book from NetGalley for an honest review. I always enjoy inspirational Christmas stories and looked forward to reading this one with great anticipation. I must say I was not disappointed. The story line is different than most. It is not often that a heroine has a disability; I do not believe I have ever read one where she was missing a limb. Now, I have read plenty of books where the hero is quite disfigured and even missing a limb, but never a heroine.Daisy [...]

    • #5 Wyoming LegacyI reada couple of years ago and loved it. Now a series of the children in that story is being written, and this is Ricky's story. I haven't read yet the stories of the other siblngs but they are on my wish list. However, I didn't feel I needed to have read the others to enjoy this one, although I'm glad I had read The Homesteader's Sweetheart as it provided me with a sense of "coming home" to familiar characters, which is something I love in a series.Daisy is struggling with the [...]

    • A Cowboy for Christmas by Lacy Williams 4 stars I was drawn right into the story. I love the characters, the drama, setting and action. It was also a clean read. I wanted Daisy to prosper and gain confidence in what she could do. It is frustrating when your life changes in an instant what you can do. Daisy struggle was real. Before the accident she had two arms and now just one. She does not want to be seen by anyone else. Feels like they would stare at her. Ricky White realized what he had caus [...]

    • I reviewed A Cowboy for Christmas for Heroes and Heartbreakers. I received an arc from NetGalley. This could have been maudlin but it never was. I liked the hero and heroine very much--they both made such a difference in each other's lives. Here's a bit of my First Look, with a link to the full review.*********************************************************A wedding reception is ordinarily a festive occasion, but Daisy is a reluctant participant. Why is she hiding at the party celebrating her f [...]

    • What an absolutely wonderful book! Daisy Richards, unhappy, angry, and sullen, but so very human in her reaction to her injury, to her challenges. I liked that she was petulant, and snapped at her family: it made her all the more real and sympathetic. The good angel-hero, Ricky White, on the other hand, who loves and helps her without patronizing or overprotecting her, is the one riddled by feelings of shame and lowliness. How he makes up for how he thinks he wrongs her and how he offers her lov [...]

    • This is book five of the Wyoming Legacy series. I have not read the previous four and had no problem keeping up with what was going on in this novel, however I think I missed the history of the family and there would have been a deeper understanding if I had. Plus if the first four are as good as this one, then read them all.Daisy Richards can't imagine anyone looking at her as a whole person again, even herself. When Ricky White starts helping her is it pity or something else she sees in him. D [...]

    • We've been watching Ricky through the series. He's a pill, a pain, a stubborn cowboy. He's caused plenty of heartache and sleepless nights. It takes a truly talented author to turn Ricky around and make us cheer for him and wish him the best. Ricky's latest antics make you want to cry as you see the outcome. He's caused another accident that is heartbreaking. But as we see what he's determined to accomplish now that he's turned his life to Christ, you can't help but cheer on his efforts. As Dais [...]

    • Boy, Daisy and Ricky sure have it rough in this story! In the beginning Daisy has a very "woe is me" attitude (can't really blame her) but her tentative friendship with Ricky gets her looking beyond her trials and forward to the future with hope. Her character arc was well done and realistic for the challenges she faced. Ricky is so full of guilt and remorse, and I admired his fortitude in relying on Jesus to carry the burden of his sins. Of course, throughout the story I was waiting for the bal [...]

    • The author meets the challenge of describing the life of a girl who has lost her right arm in a wagon accident in 1900s Wyoming. How can she bake, chop vegetables, sew, write or anything else required of a ranch wife? Can she ride a horse, and if she can, how does she manage to tack him up? What with our heroine feeling isolated from her friends, painfully aware of her difference, and a new stepmother and her dynamic little boys, the story is busy and complicated. Even more complex is our hero - [...]

    • Her world is torn asunder when an wagon accident took her arm and her spirit. He shows up at her family farm looking for a friend and redemption. But can they overcome both their pasts to make a future together? Will love find a way, especially at Christmas?I know it's difficult at this point to find titles for romance novels, especially around Christmas stories, but this title has been used way too often. Other than that, this historical romance had unexpected depth and many wise words about th [...]

    • Great readAnother fabulous installment in the Wyoming Legacy series.I have loved reading all of these books but this one was extra special with a good message and a beautiful love story.I couldn't put it down it was so good.

    • Daisy's unwillingness to leave her house after her accident (which cost her one of her arms) was thoughtfully done. Ricky's ability to gradually get her out of her shell helped make their romance even more believable.

    • Sweet and tender story!Such a sweet story. I most enjoyed the simplicity and tenderness of Daisy and Ricky's love growing. I would recommend this to people who love a pure and simple story.

    • A sweet story of redemption and finding love. Plenty of emotion and another wonderful story in this family full of cute cooking cowboys.

    • This is a great read about a reformed cowboy and his attempt to make amends for past mistakes. It's a sensitive, sweet story.

    • I really am loving the stories of all these kids of Jonas. This one may have been my favorite so far! This story touched my heart. I love a good redemption story, and this one was fabulous.

    • I may upgrade to five stars - I really liked this one.[UPDATED: Bumped to five stars because I keep thinking about it *happysigh*]
